A councillor and city staff in your neighbourhood every month, no appointment needed

Honveer Singh Randhawa and the Conservative Party of Surrey council candidates have announced a plan to bring city services directly to the doorstep of every Surrey neighbourhood, before local problems turn into costly emergencies.

The centrepiece of the plan is "Bringing City Hall to You," a program built to cut through bureaucratic barriers and address neighbourhood safety and maintenance issues while they are still small and manageable.

Under the plan, Surrey will be divided into eight geographic zones. Every month, a Surrey City Councillor and two senior city staff officers will host an open, drop-in community clinic at a local recreation centre, gymnasium, or public hub within each zone.

The program is built around three commitments:

• No appointments required. Residents can simply walk in to speak directly with decision-makers.

• Direct accountability. City officers will be on-site to log issues and initiate immediate action.

• A focus on neighbourhood safety, targeting hyper-local concerns including illegal drug consumption or sales in streets and parks, drag racing and noisy nighttime traffic, neighbourhood disputes, potholes, graffiti, and requests for traffic calming measures like speed bumps.

"For too long, Surrey residents have felt disconnected from City Hall, often forced to navigate endless red tape just to report a pothole or a safety concern on their street," said Honveer Singh Randhawa. "We believe that if you look after the little things, you prevent the big emergencies. Our council team will be in your neighbourhoods, listening to you face-to-face, and fixing problems on the spot."

The Conservative Party of Surrey team says effective leadership means managing both the city's grand vision and its daily livability. By resolving localized crime, infrastructure gaps, and disturbances at the neighbourhood level before they escalate, the city can put its emergency and capital resources where they matter most.
